Environmental controls
We understand that proper storage is critical if components are to retain peak functionality during storage. Our warehouse facilities are equipped with the most up-to-date, redundant systems for ESD protection, as well as careful climate, humidity and temperature control.
Secured storage
For customers that require extra security for their components, we provide a bonded secure storage program. A dedicated segment of the warehouse is assigned and kept under lock and key. Only authorized PCXY personnel may retrieve inventory, and parts are sold only to specifically designated customers, who are under contract.
Inventory inspections
Every item is inspected upon receipt into the warehouse, and then inspected again before it is released from the warehouse.

PCXY's Special Product Agreements™ (SPA™), which work in concert with our continuing manufacture, distribution, and re-creation capabilities, help make PCXY an easy choice for manufacturers who require long-term support for EOL and mature semiconductor components.

PCXY is pleased to now offer a semiconductor design archive recovery service. If you have archives on obsolete media, we have the capability to restore and read many old media formats and translate the design archive files into a usable data set.
We support a variety of tape, floppy diskette, and optical formats as well as variety of operating systems, backup formats, and drawing formats. Our staff are experienced data recovery specialists with knowledge of semiconductor design archive formats such as GDS and Applicon.

Tape and Reel Services:
PCXY provides a variety of Tape and Reel options, governed by the size and configuration of your component. We offer tape and reel service for surface mount, axial and radial package styles, as well as the option for either Heat Seal Cover Tape or PSA (Pressure Sensitive Adhesive) Cover Tape.
The utilization of state-of-the-art equipment assures our customers the highest quality results with minimal component handling. This packaging process meets the requirements of EIA-481 Standard.
The materials used in the process are static dissipative for ESD protection. Please contact your local PCXY Electronics sales representative for additional information on pricing and lead-time.
Solderability:
PCXY Electronics has DLA lab suitability to perform solderability testing to the requirements of MIL-STD-883 Test Method 2003 and EIA J-STD-002.
Solderability evaluations are made to verify that the solderability of component leads and terminations meets the requirements established in this standard and to determine that proper storage has had no adverse effect on the ability to solder components to an interconnecting substrate.
Solderability testing provides a means of determining the solderability of device package terminations that are intended to be joined to another surface using SnPb or Pb-free solder. The procedure, considered to be destructive, will test whether the packaging materials and processes used during the manufacturing operations produce a component that can be successfully soldered in the next level assembly after being preconditioned. Bake and Dry Pack:
All of our moisture sensitive devices are baked and dry packed in accordance with JEDEC J-STD-033B for proper storage.
Components are first baked in our calibrated ovens to insure removal of any moisture and then they are vacuum sealed in a moisture barrier bag with desiccants and HIC card to verify their condition prior to your use. Standard and customer specified labels are used to identify the product lot and date code as well as the quantity.
All of our handling and inspection processes are performed in an ESD safe handling work environment.

Although programmable devices can be sold in the unprogrammed state, or “blank-state”, our full service test and programming laboratory can provide value-added programming services for all major semiconductor manufacturers and package styles.
Our highly experienced engineering and technical teams work with the major suppliers of commercially available programming equipment (Data I/O, BP) and OEM specific device programmers, along with automated handling equipment to provide high quality cost effective solutions for our customers. Customers can provide programs using electronic data file transfers, supplied disks or “master” units and all programs are maintained, controlled and archived on our secure server.
Our expert engineering staff can also provide full testing services for most programmable devices after the units are programmed with the user’s specific program. This unique test capability can reduce residual defect rates by providing fault-graded functional, AC, and DC testing of the customers unique design.

FASSt™ Inventory for Just-in-Time Situations
As part of PXCY Electronics' Factory-Authorized Safety Stock (FASSt ™) program, PXCY acts as a complementary source to traditional supply channels to cover deficiency while the OCM experiences lead times with their active device manufacturing. As a result of an increasing inventory, PCXY continues to expand its facilities to accommodate the supply of finished devices, which also includes PCXY manufactured devices. PCXY Electronics takes pride in storing these devices in over 170,000 square feet of climate-controlled, industry-approved and audited warehouse space, which includes a secure bonded stock area.
Continued Availability of Mature and EOL Devices
In addition to immediate finished goods inventory, PCXY maintains a die bank that contains the world's largest supply of silicon wafers -- over 10 billion. Inventory has been purchased directly from the original manufacturer, and has been manufactured by PCXY under authorization from the original manufacturer. This inventory enhances the in-stock finished product supply with a ready-to-manufacture semiconductor supply.
What does all of this mean to you? The steps PCXY takes to assure high-quality semiconductors assures that the devices you receive from our inventory will NEVER be counterfeit; you will never have to worry about how the devices were sourced and handled, and the semiconductors will keep their integrity and functionality as long as they are stored in our facilities.
Part Re-creation
The re-creation and replication services provided by PCXY Electronics were introduced to help customers avoid system re-design, re-certification and lengthy (also expensive) process approvals. The Semiconductor Replication Process ™ (SRP™) which was established with an experienced, in-house design team who develops solutions for long-term support when inventory of finished goods and wafers are exhausted. Services provided through SRP include:
- Device Replication: Used when the original design and IP is no longer available from the original manufacturer. PCXY re-creates a virtually identical device.
- Product Migration: This approach is taken when cost and difficulty cannot be justified unless several products are simultaneously developed. The original design/IP is minimally adjusted to run on a similar process of the same technology. This can be used on all level of complexities.
- Process re-creation: When the IP is complete and the original FAB process can be re-created at a foundry, and designs can be maintained. PCXY has successfully completed this with the Intel FAB 4 NMOS processes and AMD bipolar PROM using methodology.
Device Re-creations and What They Mean to You
Fortunately for customers, the re-creation process does not necessarily mean a huge expense. In fact, PCXY-funded re-creations (based on aggregate demand) are not unusual. In this situation, a specific device requiring re-creation may be required by multiple customers, putting PCXY in the position to be proactive in the re-creation process, which will then ultimately remove the Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) cost from the customer's quote process, creating a more cost-effective solution.
