Characteristics of Flake Ice

A mechanical freezing system, however advanced it is, can provide only a low temperature, while cannot provide a humid environment. This disadvantage will dry the surface of, dewater or frostbite the fresh and live commodities. Only ice will provide a perfect cooling and watery environment to keep the fresh and live commodities in an ideal status. Flake ice is widely used in seafood and fresh meat preservation and display in supermarkets. As flake ice is dry and smooth, it will not scratch the fresh and live commodities, in the same time, it will maintain good ventilation. That will ensure the original taste of the commodities and prevent loss caused by dewatering of the commodities.

Large contacting area and quick freezing

As flake ice is in a flat shape, it has a large contacting area compared to ice of the other types. The larger the contacting area, the more effective the freezing becomes. For example, the minimum area of 1000 Kg flake ice is 1,579 square meters, while ice of same quantity in the other types provides only 395 to 1294 square meters contacting area. So the freezing (cooling) effectiveness of flake ice will be 2 – 5 times that of tube ice or cube ice.

Outstanding Food Preservation

Flake ice is dry, soft and flat. These characteristics will protect the packaged food during the packing and refrigeration process. Its flat pattern will minimize the possibility of damaging the refrigerated commodities.

Complete Mixing

As flake ice has a gigantic contacting area and the heat ejection happens quickly, flake ice melts quickly into water, taking the heat away and intensifying humidity of the mixture.

Ice Flaker Evaporator

As the key part of the complete flake ice machine, the ice flaker evaporator plays an important role in making ice. To match the various ice flaker evaporator, you can make different choice about the refrigeration units in different refrigerant (R22, R404a or R717) by yourselves. Before place the order, please let us know which refrigerant you will choose.

Characteristics

1. The ice flaker evaporator use high quality alloy material. Precision welding and surface treatment makes high heat conduction efficient, high strength, longer lifespan.

2. The internally- scraping ice-making mode has been adopted. Under this mode, ice blades scrape ice on the inner wall of the evaporator while the evaporator itself does not move. It reduces the loss of energy as much as possible, guarantees the normal supply of cooling agent as well lower the probability of cooling agent leakage.

3. The stainless steel ice scraper formed without weld. Even by long time scraping, the scrapper keeps still tough, and the ice dropped is sizable with nearly no powder.

Maintenance

To lengthen the lifetime of an ice machine and increase the efficiency for energy-saving purpose, a regular check on the ice machine is quite necessary. User is suggested to make a monthly/quarterly/yearly record of maintenance and servicing and a very detailed log of the damage servicing so that servicing personnel can properly trace the failure history during trouble shooting process.

Daily Maintenance

Start and Stop the machine as instructed in this manual;

Make a regular record of the parameters in operation daily;

Regular check on the Dryer Filter is necessary. If frost is found on the outlet of the Filter, that may mean jamming inside the Filter. This symptom is normally accompanied by low evaporating pressure and higher condensing water temperature.

Check if the refrigeration oil is normal. If there is lack of refrigeration oil, add more. And if the oil is dirty and goes bad, change it and clean the oil filter and change to a new filter core.

When there is lack of refrigerant, to prevent frequent turn-off of the machine, the capacity status should be set to a partial load. After refrigerant is filled, set the capacity status to full load.

Any failure occurrence should not go unnoticed. A thorough analysis should be done for the cause of failure. Make a thorough analysis of the failure may help with finding a solution to the problem. And notice the SINDEICE after-sale service department of the analysis that is done.

Regular Maintenance

Regular maintenance includes maintenance on a weekly/monthly/quarterly/yearly basis. User can refer to the following scientific maintenance scheme and carry it out in a strict manner. That may help with prevention of failures in a substantially crucial way.

Weekly maintenance

Check and make an analysis of the parameters of ice machine in operation.

Monthly maintenance

Check and make an analysis of the record of parameters of ice machine in operation;

Check the bolts fastening the power wires are always tight;

Check and confirm there is no noise on all moving parts of the ice machine, and there is no abnormality in operation;

Check the water system is working properly;

Check the Compressor’s oil heater is working properly;

Check the High & Low Pressure is normal;

Check the operation current of compressors and motors is normal; check the resistance is normal. If the resistance is lower than 5 MΩ, stop the machine immediately.

Check the water tank/freezing surface/ice storage bin/water distributing tubes/condenser’s fins regularly and clean the dust and dirty things.

A: For small ice machine, we ship it as a whole unit. So you just need to prepare power and water to run the machine.

For some larger ice machine plant, we need to keep some components seperate for shipping convenience. But no worris about that. An installation brochure will be sent to you,it's very to install the machine.

Q5:What is the warranty for flake ice machine?
