Walnut process line

1. A.  Fresh Walnut Peeling Line

A-1 Flow Chart:

Removing impurities, grading, peeling, cleaning, sorting, drying.,storage.

A-1-1 Removing impurities

Mainly is to deduct the leaves, fresh shin, stones, sands and so on during the harvest and delivery

A-1-2 Grading

For better peel the fresh walnut, normally we sort the fresh walnut into 2 or 3 grades, and the peel them.

A-1-3 Peeling

Fresh skin is about 3-8mm thickness with 40-45% moisture in the skin and also the nuts have about 25% moisture, so need to skin peeling as soon as possible after harvest.

A-1-4 Cleaning

For this part is used to deduct the leaves, sands and so on for nest process, if you want to sell directly, need to clean again with 2% sodium hypochlorite solution to remove the black spots on walnuts.

A-1-5 Sorting

This process is for take out the walnut with skin and for peeling again.

A-1-6 Drying

The drying method is Hot Air, with time 24-48hours based on 45Centigrade.

After drying, the moisture of walnut is about 8%.

A-2 The main machines for this process are:

Vibration feeding machine, elevator, bar drum classifier, lifting machine, vertical peeling machine, drum washing machine, spraying and sorting table, hoist, drying box, storage.

A-2-1 bar drum classifier

This machine is used to class the size of walnut by the spans between bars.

A-2-2 Pre-washing machine

Using machine and air flow to deduct the impurities.

A-2-3 De-stoner

Using the Weight principle to remove sand and dust and so on.

A-2-4 Peeling machine

Peeling off the stripping principle is to rely on the material produced Tine scrubbing brush to rub the formation of shear force, so peel rupture and stripped down.

There are three models of peeling machine:

1. 1.      Vertical Disc Peeling machine
2. 2.      Horizontal Peeling machine
3. 3.      Roller Drum Peeling machine

A-2-4 Fresh Shell Separation machine

Used to separate walnut nuts and fresh shell and cleaning

A-2-5 Drying Machine

The main model of drying machine is Fixed drying machine, this machine unit is made by Hoist, conveyor belt, drying cabinet, and Hot woven and Fan.

The designed capacity is 5T/single cabinet.

Drying temp is 45℃

Drying time is 24-48Hs(According to the capacity).

Moisture after drying in walnut: 8%

B-1-1 Sorting

To grade different sizes of dried walnut and the shell broken them to get more even kernel.

B-1-2 Shell Broken

The main method is Fixed gapmulti-point extrusion method.

This method is for ROUND WALNUT, Elliptical walnut using Pneumatic crushing machine

B-1-3 shell and kernel separating

Used to remove the shell from kernel and non-broken for breaking again.

B-1-4 Kernel Sorting

B-1-5 flow separation

This is to remove the chips mixed in the kernels.

B-1-6 Color Sorting

To class the kernel by color and integrities

B-1-7 Worker Sorting

This is used to detect the Moldy and shriveled kernel.

B-1-8 Package

During this process, need to detect the metals, impurities and measure, at least vuccum sealing.

B-2 Main machine

B-2-1 Shell Broken machine

b-2-1.1 American walnut is elliptical or oblong, the shell broken machine they use is Pneumatic crushing machine.

b-2-1.2 China machine mainly for Round walnuts shell broken, the machine we use is Kneading extrusion type crushing machine

B-2-2 Roller drum separator

Use to remove outer shell from kernels

B-2-3 Vibration classifier

Used to sort kernel into different size

B-2-4 Rolling bar separator

Installed after the drum separator to separate out the Kernel with shell after Vibration classifier

B-2-5 Air Flow separator

Used to remove the impurities from kernels

B-2-6 Photometric sorter
