Liquid-based cytology is a method of preparing samples for examination in cytopathology. The sample is collected, normally by a small brush, in the same way as for a conventional smear test, but rather than the smear being transferred directly to a microscope slide, the sample is deposited into a small bottle of preservative liquid. At the laboratory the liquid is treated to remove other elements such as mucus before a layer of cells is placed on a slide. The technique allows more accurate results. 

LT-YJ2000 System is an automated LBC slide preparation system for use of Thinprep Cytologic Test.  

With computerized process and membrane technology, the LT-YJ2000 System controls dispersion, collection and transfer of diagnostic cells from sample to slide. 

The dispersion step breaks up blood, mucus and non-diagnostic debris and collects diagnostic cells. 

Through a series of air pressure, the diagnostic cells are collected through LT-YJ2000 filter to form a thin, even layer of diagnostic material. The amount of material is precisely controlled in the 20mm slide surface for testing.

The slide will be moved into a collecting vial, ready for staining and evaluation.
