Copper ingot
Copper ingot is a bar that is made of copper alloys and could be used for different products manufacturing.
It is a soft, malleable and ductile metal with very high thermal and electrical conductivity.
A freshly exposed surface of pure copper has a reddish-orange color. It is used as a conductor of heat and electricity, as a building material and as a constituent of various metal alloys, such as sterling silver used in jewelry, cupronickel used to make marine hardware and coins and constantan used in strain gauges and thermocouples for temperature measurement.
Different grades
Copper ingots could be different grades for different usage:
• М0 - conductor of heat and electricity and further manufacturing of high quality alloys
• М1 – current-carrying conductor, mill products, high quality bronze without tin content, for cryogenic technique manufacturing
• М2 - for cryogenic technique manufacturing, manufacturing of alloys that are based on copper content, semi finished products manufacturing
• М3 – for the further pressure treatment, getting casting alloy, cryogenic technique manufacturing
Usage
Copper ingot is used in electrical industry, tool engineering, booster and engines details, bleeders and attachments. The main industry is machine-building industry.
Cover of copper ingot should be clean without slag nodules. Some scabs are allowed within 10 % of the whole area at the depth less than 10 mm.
Fracture needs to be stony and clear of additional materials.
Copper ingot with special alloy is flexible, easy to process and has high corrosion resistance and thermally conductive characters. Ingot could be square-angled and trapezoidal shape.
