Product Description
Lianda infrared crystallizer/dryer systems are ideal for processors of flake, amorphous pellets and processors of polyester fiber. They provide continuous of batch by batch professing of PET flakes, reducing moisture from 3500ppm to less than 50ppm in about an hour, compared to 5-6 hours for conventional systems.

* IRD only need 15-20 seconds to dry a particle, like the picture.
Water vapor always is running to coldest area.Infrared heat material molecular internal and quickly around the thermal conductivity of the cold air. To make the vapor run to the coldest area- material surface. In this phase, the vapor is heated and rapid evaporation. heat is sucked to particle internal. Plastic and water are good infrared absorption conductor
* Infrared direct internal heating so that the particles core temperature rising rapidly, so that the water vapor quickly moved to the particle surface(high evaporation rate)
* The spread of the driving force is the evaporation of the water and the temperature difference in the drum
* Infrared cooling the air around, partial pressure of permanent difference is always available.
* So these difference depends on the temperature and the pressure of the particles is very effective and rapid process.
The flowing is Vacuum feeder + IRD + Vacuum feeder + Customer's extruder. Different model, dimension size is different.
1. Infrared rays destroy the IV properties of PET flake?
In fact, short exposure to heat in the IRD actually preserves IV properties.
2. Initial cost of IRD systems is much higher than conventional systems?
Initial costs of IRD and conventional systems are very comparable.
3. Infrared systems can not get PET flake moisture below 50ppm.
Moisture content of less than 50ppm is attained in one hour and the moisture content can be controlled to higher levels if required.
4. IRD is such a new technology that it is not proven.
There are over 200 infrared drying systems actively being used by plastics processors around the world.
5. IRD dryers are not being used for anything but PET.
Though we have head of the IRD being used to dry other regions, Lianda is not currently recommending those uses... but we are working on it.
