MAX20430 is an efficient, four output DC-DC converter and window watchdog. OUT1 is a synchronous step-down converter that can convert the vehicle battery voltage to 3.3V at up to 2.5A. OUT3 increases OUT1 to 5V at up to 500 mA, while OUT2 and OUT4 low-voltage synchronous step-down converters operate from OUT1 and provide an output voltage range of 0.8V to 3.9875V at up to 3A. All outputs have an output error of ± 1.5% within the load, circuit, and temperature range.
This device has a 2.1MHz fixed frequency PWM mode, suitable for all DC-DC outputs to better resist noise and load transient response. 2.1MHz frequency operation allows the use of all ceramic capacitors and minimizes external components. Programmable spread spectrum frequency modulation minimizes radiated electromagnetic emissions. The integrated low RDSON switch improves efficiency under heavy loads and makes its layout simpler compared to discrete solutions.

This device provides the preset output voltage at the factory. Other functions include soft start protection, overcurrent protection, and over temperature protection.
